Aerial Hoop Classes

If you’ve ever watched a circus show or seen an aerial performance at an event and thought, “That looks fun, but I could never do that!” we’ve got news for you… you absolutely can!

Aerial hoop is a fantastically fun, all-over body and brain workout that will challenge your bravery and help you to develop fitness, strength, flexibility and co-ordination (and no, you don’t need any of those things to start!).

Classes focus on tricks, flow, combinations, strength and conditioning, flexibility, and everything else that aerial hoop entails. We teach all levels, from complete beginners who rarely exercise, up to advanced aerialists.

Our aerial hoops are made of steel and have extremely high strength ratings. They are suspended from A-Frames designed specifically for aerial arts, using rigging equipment sourced from reputable sites with all the necessary safety markings and certifications. All equipment is well-maintained and inspected regularly – we take your safety seriously. There is no weight limit.

What You Need To Know

  • How much does it cost?

A drop-in class is £12.50. Drop-in means that you pay as you go, with no need to commit to a certain number of classes upfront. If you decide that you love it and you want to keep coming regularly, we have a selection of class packs and monthly membership options that help you to bring your per-class cost down.

  • What do I need to wear?

We recommend that you wear leggings, and a top that covers your back. The aerial hoops are covered in a fabric tape to aid with grip, but this can be quite abrasive on bare skin so it’s best to cover up where possible.

  • How do I book?

Take a look at the timetable on this page and choose which class you’d like to do, then visit our booking system, TeamUp, to create an account and sign up for classes.

  • Where is the studio?

Our studio is based in the Woolmarket in Cirencester. We are opposite the Hop Kettle pub, and next door to Funky Monkey toy shop. You can find a map, our address, and detailed information about how to find us and the best places to park on our Get In Touch page or at the bottom of this page.

  • Who can join classes?

Almost anyone! We try hard to make our classes as inclusive as possible. Unfortunately, our studio is on the first floor and there is no lift available, so we’re not able to accommodate people who are unable to walk up stairs. We regret that we are also unable to accommodate pregnant clients in our aerial classes at the moment.

  • I’m scared of heights / what if I can’t get into the hoop?

Don’t worry about the height – our hoops are rigged quite low, and there are crash mats underneath each hoop throughout every class. And please don’t worry about being able to get into the hoop either – we’ve never met someone we couldn’t help into the hoop. We’re experienced teachers with a range of different techniques to help you in, no matter what your body type or strength level.

  • What if I’m terrible at it?

This is a common fear, but all we can say is… please don’t worry! Our instructors are knowledgeable, patient and understanding, and we were all beginners once! When you start aerial hoop, it’s just as much fun making mistakes as it is when you get it right – it’s all part of the challenge. We don’t expect anyone to come in and nail every move straight away. If you were already great, there would be no point coming to class. Just come along and have fun. Who knows… you may surprise yourself!

Children’s Aerial Hoop

We teach your kids to fly, Greatest Showman-style! These classes help to develop a healthy relationship between the body and exercise from an early age, celebrating every achievement and showing children how strong they are. Our children’s aerial hoop classes are available for children and teenagers aged – 5-15 years old.

Children and youth classes cost £10 per session for a drop-in, or you can buy a pack of four classes (to be used within eight weeks) at a cost of £36.

We currently run two mixed age / mixed ability children’s classes at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and 5.15pm on Thursdays.
